America, Ameryouca, Amerweca

America, America, from sea to shinning sea.
America, America, I'll always cherish thee!

Let us take a journey 'cross
This glorious nation land,
And see the things that we will see,
From rock, to dirt, to sand.

Look 'pon the faces of Rushmore Mount,
Our country's coolest guys:
Abe Lincoln, Pauly Bunyan too,
And Betsy Ross (but in disguise)!

For freedom!
For justice!
For doing the right thing!
America, America, for you I would do anything!

We'll make our way through the Stony Mountains,
Climb to the top of Tecumseh's Crook.
I can see all the way to Jefferson's Bay!
What a good spot to read a book.

You've given me all that I need America,
A car, pencils, and food that will help me thrive.
I'm glad that I live in you,
I'm lucky to be alive!

Look, the Washington monument!
A tribute to our daddy George.
And there is the Empire State Building,
Where our Constitution was forged.

I like this country, can't you tell?
It's better than a skating rink.
The best part of America,
Is all of it I think!

I love the cool stuff in Texas,
And the fun things in Utah, too.
America is great, wouldn't you say?
It's for me and it's for you.

Painful Pain

With my eyes I cry, the tears tear tears In my skin, like shards of glass. And I bleed emotion. Emotion that cuts at my heart, like another shard of glass, And breaks it, like a rock through a pane of glass. A pane that is painful whenever it is touched and falls apart like a shattering of glass. A shattering that scatters my smattered pain. Painful pain, full of glass and empty burrito wrappers

How to tell if you have a horse infestation… and what to do about it.

Now is Not the Time to Politicize the Tragedies That Have Happened Inside This Haunted House

In wake of recent events, my thoughts and prayers are with the victims who went missing after our group split up inside the abandoned house to find any valuable heirlooms that had been left behind after the late homeowner died under mysterious circumstances. This tragedy is unspeakable, because many of our mouths have been sealed shut by some otherworldly substance, and I send my warmest condolences to whichever dimension our friends’ souls are tethered to. Right now is a time for consoling the survivors, and mourning the loss of our beloved companion, who told us that she didn't believe in ghosts, right before a phantom emerged from a dusty hallway mirror and pulled her into it. We will never forget the terrified look in her eyes as she pounded her fists on the glass that she was trapped behind. My thoughts and prayers are also with the couple who we heard screaming in what we believe was the very bedroom where the dead body of a priest was found, his lifeless hands clutchin...

9 Questions to NEVER Ask a Gay Person

As a gay person, it’s common to get frustrating questions. If you consider yourself an ally and have asked one of these before, reconsider how you interact with queer people! 1 .) "How many people have you killed?" Wow... just, no. The fact that someone dates people of the same gender does NOT mean they're also a serial murderer. Don't just assume that your gay coworker has a mass grave in their backyard: if they've taken the lives of several people, trust me, they'll tell you! 2.)  " So who's the man and who's the woman in the relationship? " Not everyone speaks English. Its offensive to assume that everyone speaks the same language as you. Newsflash: America doesn't have a national language, so not everyone is going to know what you're saying. Try to be understanding of the fact that some Americans never learned English. 3.)  " What's the circumference of the earth? " There's nothin...

CULTURE MUSINGS: How is the new Aladdin different from the original?

This Memorial Day weekend, Disney released Aladdin, the live-action version of one of its most popular movies based on the life of U.S. President Warren G. Harding's youngest son. While the adaption mostly stays true to the original, some eagle-eyed fans might have noticed these changes in Guy Ritchie's remake. The events of the live action film do not end up causing the Hindenburg disaster. It is heavily implied in the 1992  Aladdin  film that the main character inadvertently creates a chain reaction through history that end up resulting in the 1937 explosion of the Hindenburg, starting with a chase scene at the beginning of the film. As Aladdin runs from palace guards, he bumps into a man who looks very similar to Ludwig Durr, the designer of the Hindenburg. John Musker and Ron Clements, the directors of the animated film, confirmed in several interviews that the man is indeed the airship designer's ancestor, and that Aladdin's collision with him has dire conse...
